UN FAMILY TRUST
The Education Trusts
Mr. Youn Way Un and Mrs. Wai Fong Tam Un did not have children but they deeply believed in education. Thus, they established the Un Family Trust and their corresponding sub-trusts - the Un Education Trust and the Tam Education Trust (together known as "Trust A") and the Un Family Education Trust ("Trust B"). Both Trust A and Trust B were primarily established to fund university education tuitions for descendants of the named beneficiaries of their Un and Tam families. It does not fund their housing or food expenses during their education.

Mrs. Tam Un was a teacher and school administrator in Hong Kong and was a co-founder of the Lai Chack Middle School (麗澤ä¸å¸) (www.laichack.edu.hk), a secondary school in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Founded in 1929, Lai Chack was formed as a girls' school in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. At that time, Hong Kong was a very poor and under developed city. Girls were often not educated due to a lack of funds or due to traditional norms and attitudes. Mrs. Tam Un believed that girls should have an equal right to an education as did boys. In 1929, along with five other colleagues, Mrs. Tam Un co-founded Lai Chack Middle School.
